How to install strings on your Practice Anywhere Banjo |
|||
| (Note) It is best to replace one string at a time whenever possible. | |||
| Step 1: Remove one string and adjust the tuner screw to 1/2" from the bottom of the screw to the neck as in Figure 2. | |||
| Step 2: Attach the loop end of the new string to the fine tuner. Pull the string along the fingerboard and cut it to allow 3-1/2" of the string hangs over as in Figure 1. | |||
| Step 3: Place the string in the tuner screw hole just enough to start your turning. | |||
| Step 4: With the Allen wrench provided, in the proper direction, turn the tuner screw to start winding the string. | |||
| Step 5: Hold the string with your hand at
point A in Figure 2. Keep all of the string wrapped toward the
head of the screw until you can't hold it up any more. Then finish
turning until the string is close to in tune.
(Note) The screws tune up quicker than you might think so know the note that you need before you over tighten the string. The tuning screws will bottom out in their threaded hole so if the string is not tight enough before his happens, start over and take up some of the slack in the string. |
|||
| Tuning the Instrument : The tuning screws are to get close to the pitch desired. The fine tuners are for the rest. Set the fine tuners to the lowest setting possible to help protect the delicate little knobs. | |||
